Sue Zelickson joins me to talk about Thanksgiving favorites!

Sue Zelickson's Favorite White Castle Stuffing

  • 10 White Castle hamburgers (remove pickles)
  • 1 1/2 tsp ground sage or rosemary
  • 3/4 tsp coarse ground black pepper
  • 1 1/4 tsp ground thyme
  • 1 1/2 cups diced celery
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth

In a large mixing bowl, tear the burgers into pieces and add the seasonings and the diced celery. Toss well and add chicken broth. Place mixture in nine cup (2 1/2 quarts) casserole dish and bake covered for about one hour in a 350 degree oven. Uncover for last 20 minutes to get a crusty top...or you can place in cavity of turkey just before roasting. The recipe is enough for a 10 to 12 pound turkey. Allow one hamburger for each pound of turkey which is the equivalent of 3/4 cup of stuffing per pound. Leftovers are great the next day!

Sue's next WCCO radio special will be December 7th, 2008. Below are the links to the foods and services and sponsors she mentioned in our conversation this morning! Just click on the link you wish to visit and it will take you there!
