Jane F. Gilgun, is professor, School of Social Work, University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. She does research on the meanings of violence to perpetrators, the development of violent behaviors, and how persons overcome adversities. She has spent more than 25 years researching behaviors.
She has an extensive publication record and has lectured, consulted, and done trainings nationally and internationally on the ideas that are the basis of the present book. She has more than sixty scholarly articles in journals and edited books, more than fifty less formal articles in newsletters and on the internet, two edited books, and three books in progress.
She has maintained a life-long interest in English literature and writes poetry, has a completed play, and has a novel in progress.
In addition, she has been interviewed by journalists more than seventy times on her research, given ten keynote speeches at conferences, and presented more than fifty papers and trainings at national and international conferences.
