Health Care Reform with Dr. Maureen Reed – Team Minnesota's candidate for Lt. Governor for the Independence Party – The traditional role for the Lt. Governor is as a ceremonial stand-in for the Governor. We should expect and get more for our money from an elected state executive. The Lt. Governor should be ready to become Governor, if necessary. That means the Lt. Governor must be a full partner with the Governor and Team Minnesota in setting priorities and employing resources to achieve those results.

Dr. Maureen Reed has dedicated her career to delivering better health outcomes for Minnesotans. She earned her medical degree from the University of Minnesota, practiced as Internal Medicine doctor, and most recently served as the Medical Director for HealthPartners. In 1997, she was elected by the Legislature to the Board of Regents at the University of Minnesota where she served for 8 years. As the Chair of the Regents she led the University through the successful transition from Mark Yudof to President Bob Bruininks. As Minnesota's next Lt. Governor, Maureen will use those leadership skills and passion for health care reform to move this state forward. http://www.teammn.com/
