WCCO Radio Weekend Sports Host Eric Nelson is a sports junkie who gets his fix in arenas or stadiums. Eric is also a travel junkie, which explains why he once took a five-week trip to different baseball parks in the Midwest and West. Or why he gorged himself on a Florida football feast by seeing three NFL games (in Jacksonville, Miami and Tampa) in five days. Eric went to 23 games in 17 weeks, two training camps and a Super Bowl to write his book, "Slices of The NFL" (www.minnesotascore.com ...scroll to the bottom to find the Slices of the NFL link).

Besides his stint at WCCO Radio, Eric is a Twin Cities-based reporter for Sporting News Radio and writes a column for Minnesota Score Magazine. Eric has covered 10 Super Bowls and was a sportscaster at WCCO-TV from 1995 to 2000.

Eric grew up in Southern California and came to Minnesota because he heard the surfing on Lake Superior was great. He enjoys hiking, playing football, rollerblading, working out and watching NFL Film's videos. Eric is grateful for the family support he receives from Libby, Payton and Connor so he can chase his sports passions.
