Not by Fire but by Ice

Nature's Rampage Might Signal Start of New Ice Age

Seattle, Washington: The recent rash of record-breaking blizzards, record-breaking hurricanes, and record-breaking floods—the greatest in more than 500 years (since before Christopher Columbus)—is just the tip of the proverbial iceberg, says science writer Robert W. Felix.

The worst is yet to come, says Felix, author of NOT BY FIRE BUT BY ICE: Discover What Killed the Dinosaurs . . . and Why it Could Soon Kill Us. The next ice age could begin any day.

Ice ages begin or end abruptly every 11,500 years. They alternate. It's a naturally recurring cycle, a dependable, predictable, natural cycle. (See Pacemaker of the Ice Ages chart.)

This little-known—but undeniable—cycle has struck like clockwork for millions of years. And it's about to strike again, says the Seattle researcher. The last ice age ended almost exactly 11,500 years ago, which means that the next ice age could begin any day.

And when it begins, it will begin with a bang.

Until recently, scientists assumed that ice ages began slowly. New studies show, however, that all previous ice ages began abruptly. Many ice ages began catastrophically, with the climate shifting from periods of warmth such as today's to full-blown glacial severity in less than 20 years.

The next ice age should begin just as quickly.

But what about global warming?

Global warming (which is really ocean warming) is caused by the same natural cycle that causes ice ages, says Felix. Indeed, many ice ages began when temperatures were warmer than today. Conditions are perfect—right now—to cause an ice age. All we need is more moisture.

And we’re getting it. The number of what scientists call extreme precipitation events—major blizzards and heavy rainstorms—has increased almost 20 percent just since 1970.

Felix has done more than 300 radio interviews around the US and Canada, including Kansas City, Tulsa, Minneapolis, Hartford, Baltimore, Boston, Tacoma, Vancouver, Calgary, Seattle, Salt Lake City, Colorado Springs, Winnipeg, San Francisco, Montreal, and Washington, D.C.

Author Brad Steiger – Shadow World: True Encounters with Beings from the Darkside

Having conducted research through five decades and across four continents, investigator Brad Steiger concludes that a richly populated Shadow World exists all around us. When it impinges on our ordinary plane of shared reality, this dark dimension is sometimes frightening, occasionally menacing, but always worthy of cautious exploration.

Spirits of the dead are but one of the many types of beings that inhabit in the Shadow World. Others appear to be multidimensional beings, some of whom may be benign, while others seem to be cosmic tricksters or troublemakers bent on mischief. And unfortunately some of the beings that seem to have our best interests at heart may in fact have entered our world with the intention of possessing our bodies or capturing our souls.

Star Dreams

Presenting the story of the greatest revelatory phenomenon of our time.

Star Dreams is an 85 minute documentary which shows the circles themselves for all to see and presents the top crop circle researchers. Investigating the over-all assumption of hoaxing, balls of light, sacred site connection, media and people’s reaction to the phenomena, and outlining the basic understandings arrived at so far. Images of the major crop circles, interviews with top researchers and a narrative line dealing with the mystical aspects of the phenomenon.

Many are now coming to believe these mysterious symbols, appearing all over the planet (more than 11,000 since 1980), are a communiqué to humankind allowing a greater human consciousness to emerge. They are here to offer humanity at this time, an opportunity for an expanded consciousness and an understanding of how the world works in the larger context of the inter-galactic community.

Science and media have not given the phenomena it due consideration. Now is the time for a careful re-consideration based on the information and insights gained by the many researchers in the field.

Under A Flaming Sky: The Great Hinckley Firestorm of 1894

From Daniel James Brown...

For me, the Great Hinckley Firestorm is personal. It cost my great-grandfather his life. My great-grandmother and my grandfather escaped on a burning train, but their lives were never again the same.

Several years ago I set out to learn more about what exactly happened to them on that hot, dusty first day of September, 1894, when their world exploded in flames. As I dug through musty old newspapers, tattered books, and faded letters, I discovered an extraordinary tale about an almost unbelievable event, and I've recorded that tale in UNDER A FLAMING SKY. I hope you enjoy reading the book. If you have comments or questions about it or about the firestorm please feel free to send me email.

I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and attended Diablo Valley College, the University of California at Berkeley, and UCLA. I taught writing at San Jose State University and Stanford and co-authored two textbooks: Criteria for Writers (Holt, Rinehart and Winston, 1987) and Connections: A Rhetoric and Short Prose Reader (Houghton Mifflin, 1984). I am working now on a second historical narrative that will be published by William Morrow/HarperCollins in 2008/2009.

I live in the country east of Redmond, Washington with my wife and two daughters and an assortment of cats, dogs, chickens, sheep, and honeybees. When I am not writing, I am likely to be birding, gardening, reading American history, reading Shakespeare, or chasing coyotes away from the sheep.

When Prayers Aren't Answered

John Welshons, M.A. is the founder and president of Open Heart Seminars, an organization born in 1981 dedicated to enhancing spiritual education and awareness in our society. Since the early 1970's, John has spent much time working with such notable spiritual educators as Ram Dass, Stephen Levine, Pat Rodegast, Judith Stanton, Dale Borglum, and others setting up meaningful lectures, workshops and retreats, many of which have been focused on people who were terminally ill as well as those in grief. He says his life was "dramatically changed" by his first meeting with Dr. Elisabeth Kubler-Ross in 1976. Over the years, one of the main areas of investigation for John has been the grieving process. Through his workshops and one-on-one counseling, he has helped many people who are working with a terminal illness as well as the loved ones who are suffering about a death that has happened, or is imminent.

He is a frequent lecturer to businesses, churches, hospitals, hospices, synagogues, colleges, and universities throughout the United States. He is the author of the new book, Awakening from Grief. An abridged version of one of his stories from the book is featured in A 6th Bowl of Chicken Soup for the Soul. He is also the co-author of Healing the Grief (...of the Loss of a Loved One)-- an audio tape about grief, loss, and healing-- developed in conjunction with his good friend, Mark Victor Hansen, the co-author of the phenomenally successful Chicken Soup for the Soul series of books. In addition, John's life experience includes a B.A. in Religious Studies from the University of South Florida, and an M.A. in History of Religions from Florida State University, where he taught courses that included "Death and Dying" and "Religion in America." He has also taught at Ramapo College in New Jersey.

He has traveled extensively in India and has nearly thirty years of experience in daily meditation practice. He also has twenty-five years of business experience, fifteen years of which he spent as president and C.E.O of a mid-size corporation in New Jersey.

John is available for lectures or workshops that will inspire the members of your church, company, or organization.

Love Colors

A Note from Pam Oslie...

I'm an author, consultant, lecturer, and professional psychic. Since 1983, I've traveled extensively throughout the country presenting seminars & conducting workshops about the emerging human potential, psychic abilities, auras, and the power of our beliefs to create our reality.

My radio show can be heard live in the Santa Barbara area and simulcast on via the Santa Barbara Newspress online . Due to the success of my books, Life Colors: What Your Aura Colors Say About You and Make Your Dreams Come True , I've also been a frequent guest on many television & radio shows. I have been a guest lecturer at the International Forum on New Science, Fortune 500 companies, and many seminars for professionals in the psychology, education, and health fields. My new book Love Colors: A New Approach to Love, Relationships, and Auras will be released in Spring 2007.

I use my psychic abilities to help people discover their life path, solve issues, and achieve fulfillment, and to demonstrate that we are more than we've been taught – that psychic abilities are natural and innate in us all.

Because I have been reading auras for over twenty years, I have finely tuned my ability to recognize common aspects of the various aura colors and am able to receive helpful, life-altering information for my clients. Being able to read the aura and understand the meaning behind each color has helped me understand my purpose in life, the way I process information, my interactions with people and how I handle relationships.

My purpose in writing about the aura is to bring this knowledge and information to others, to enable them to understand how and why they process life in a particular way. This information gives people permission to be themselves, to become more allowing and accepting of themselves and others, while also learning effective ways of changing their unwanted behaviors and attitudes.

There are no good or bad aura colors. The aura reflects one's choices in this lifetime, but does not mean that one is limited to a particular goal or way of processing. We are all free to expand, grow and change any way we choose. My goal is to show that while we may all have different methods, goals and purposes, we are each a part of the whole human aura rainbow.
